HeartSoulVoice is Janna Maria Fröhlich, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist on harp, keyboard and guitar, and Joy Grimes, violin/viola.  The duo offers songs and sounds of transcendence, connection, and empowerment. Their eclectic style is influenced by folk, world, jazz, classical, medieval, and improvisational genres. Jannas voice has been described as angelic, playful, soaring, soothing, and haunting, and her harp-playing as lush and evocative.  Joys string playing, with its impeccable intonation and empathetic musicality, is a second emotive voice in the duo.  They have appeared at the New England Folk Festival, many local Porch Fests, with the Women in Music Gathering at the Burren, on the Friends of Music at Guilford (VT) performing arts series; and at house concerts in Boston. They'll mark 2020 with their first full-length recording project. You can also hear HeartSoulVoice or Janna alone on Spotify on LowBudget Records' Dylan and Beatles compilations "Dylanology" and "Across Their Universe II".

Yani Batteau is a charismatic, soulful performer who connects immediately with her audience exuding joy and intrigue.  Her skillful creative clawhammer-style banjo playing is both uplifting and haunting with a signature resonance all her own.  Her folksy vocals contain subtle nuances with melodic variations that carry you along into the story.  She has performed in Germany, Belgium, Great Britain, the Netherlands, and is well-known to local audiences having performed at Sanders Theater, Passim, Johnny Ds, The Lilypad, and The Burren.
