Our first tablao of 2020 features the baile of Brenna McDonald and toque of Mark Ferguson. With Randa BenAziz on vocals and dancers Lillie Last and Christina Lorenz. Come enjoy live flamenco in Portland's finest listening room!

Brenna McDonald is a flamenco dancer, choreographer, and guitarist. She co-directs Espacio Flamenco where she teaches the guitar classes and the kids' level-two dance classes. Flamenco is her joy and passion and she delights in learning and sharing this beautiful art form.

Mark Ferguson began studying the flamenco guitar in 1995 and spent two years in Spain focusing on the art of flamenco song and dance accompaniment. Mark said, In Spain I came to understand that the flamenco guitar exists as an accompaniment instrument, and that to be a successful flamenco guitarist means developing an intimate relationship with singing and dancing.

Randa BenAziz's vocal style developed from growing up in Morocco, where there is a mix of arabic musical styles and heavy influence of flamenco. Randa has been singing since she moved from Morocco to Portland when she was 8 years old. The harmonic melodies recognized in her vocals are a reflection of her multicultural life experiences.
