Sounds of Metta
The world-renowned Buddhist Singer, Imee Ooi, is coming to Ashland with 5 of her Dharma singers, the JSJG, from Malaysia. Imee Ooi, who has been the pioneer of Buddhist Dharma music over the past two decades, first made the world charts in 1999 with her lilting voice singing the Prajna Paramita, the Heart Sutra in Sanskrit. Three years ago, she had her debut concert in Kuala Lumpur before setting off on tour in Asia. Now, she will debut in the USA. The JSJG Dharma Mens Group was created to further enrich the dharma music presentation, and open up yet unexplored grounds of how mantras and sutras can be presented and fit to this modern world. In this concert, The Sound of Metta, Imee Oois theme and purpose is Embracing Loving-Kindness through music.
Now she will sing at the Unitarian Church (Rogue Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship) in Ashland Oregon.
