Shirley Gnome Live Album Taping
Vancouver's very own 'chanteuse provocatrice', fresh off a season of touring across Canada and a Canadian Comedy Award nomination, is returning home to record her third album. The collection of work will span the last two years that she has written and performed since winning Patrick Maliha's The People's Champ of Comedy Competition in 2012. Gnome's surprise win, which earned her $20,000, took her from an Vancouver underground cult favorite to an internationally acclaimed touring artist.

Gnome is returning home to capture her bevy of road seasoned songs and continually evolving material. Broaching topics such as prostitution, heartbreak and incest, the new album will have a darker and more questioning tone than her previous work. However, Gnome isn't ending her love affair with absurdity, frivolity and crassness anytime soon. Her show-stopping party anthem about mystery glitter discovered in her underwear (The Glitter Song) will be the piece-de-resistance.
