Comunidad Flamenca
Rina Orellana proudly presents her students at this annual dance showcase. Guirarist Kai Narezo, singer Ana Quintero and percussionist Gerardo Morales join Rina and her 12 dancers for an exciting evening of high octane flamenco!
Comunidad Flamenca means we are a Flamenco Community.
Not only do we share our passion for this beautiful and life changing art form of flamenco, we share our lives together. Our hopes, our struggles, weddings, graduations, deaths, new jobs, births-- all of it.
I have been presenting my students in showcases since 2004.
The first few were held at Sangria Restaurant in Hermosa Beach. After a few years, we outgrew the venue and my dancers skyrocketed in their dance abilities. So, we began presenting shows at Alvas. There, I've watched as my dancers that have been with me for a many years blossom as dancers, as soloists, as flamencas.
As a flamenco community we are blessed to have each other and to have flamenco as an outlet for our own personal empowerment.
So, for this special 10 year anniversary, I wanted to give back to other families who need our help.
The Toberman Neighborhood Center is a non-profit community-based organization committed to assisting Harbor Area families and individuals by delivering life-changing services that encourage, inform, educate and empower them to live healthy and purposeful lives.
We will be donating a 20% of all our ticket sales to the Toberman Neighborhood Center in honor of our own flamenco community.
Don't forget to bring your own wine and tapas at our beloved Alvas!
