The Shoot Em Up Showcase: Virtual Showcase
Shoot 'Em Up, the show that brings you the evolution of a story, to script, to film, is hosting a special virtual night of the Shoot 'Em Up showcase!
At Shoot Em Up, weve always strived to present shows with a diverse cast of storytellers, writers, and filmmakers, making an effort to present people of different sexual orientations and cultural backgrounds. Weve been more successful at times while at others, we could have done better. We remain dedicated to this commitment & are proud of the work weve done.
For this months show, we are excited to highlight some of our favorite Black storytellers and filmmakers from Shoot Em Ups past.
On July 28th, 2020 @ 7:30 p.m., via Zoom, join host Melanie Maras as SEU features 3 stellar SEU Alumni storytellers as they tell their story from a previous season of the show. Each story will be immediately followed by the film that evolved from their story!
Featuring:
*Courtney Allen and the story she told in Season 7 of the show followed by the film Something For Myself, directed by David Seligman, which was inspired by a script from Ricky Carmona.
*Glenn Jeffers and the story he told in Season 2 of the show followed by the film Never Seen You Shine So Bright, by Anna Christopher, which was inspired by a script from Jessica Lee Williamson.
*Aydrea Walden and the story she told in Season 4 of the show, followed by the film I Love You Lets Break Up, by Sean Cunningham, which was inspired by a script from Rebekah and Joe Slepski.
**PROCEEDS for the show will go to support Black & Brown Founders
