Join Scruffy City Cinema Club on September 28th at Relix Variety theater for a special ONE-NIGHT ONLY screening of new music documentary A Band Called Death along with legendary Knoxville punk band Teenage Love13.
Scruffy City Cinema Club, Knoxville's first pop-up movie theater, is about to come to life- with DEATH. Directed by Mark Christopher Covino and Jeff Howlett, A Band Called Death tells the story of a band that was punk before punk was even punk. But in the days of Motown and disco, this trio of three brothers weren't able to break big in the music business, forcing them to disband and move on with their lives- until recently, when their catalogue was re-discovered and hailed as some of the finest "proto-punk around." After the movie, stick around for an exclusive performance by the one and only Teenage Love13, Knoxville's legendary hardcore punk outfit. Show up to the film early for a truly punkin' pre-show reel filled with all kinds of visual goodies. This truly is a night to die for.
