From the production team that brought you Ederlezi Balkan Brass Festival, Opa Tsupa, Mariachi-Trubachi, and other epic community events, Slivovica Productions, Caravan World Rhythms, and Transformation Projects are proud to present:

TABLE SONGS FESTIVAL

Inspired by "Supra", the Georgian tradition of gathering around a feast table and participating in folk songs, music, and dance, we will bring this experience to Vancouver showcasing four cultures' different ways of celebrating life.

As guests, you will be seated at long tables to enjoy a catered feast, and you are invited to join in as each group leads songs from their representative culture, in whichever manner you please!

Participants:

Onefourfive (Seattle) - Georgian tradition
To headline the event and celebrate the inspiration for this event, we welcome the Georgian polyphonic singing group "Onefourfive", in their premiere Canadian performance. They will also be demonstrating Georgian folk dancing, truly one of the most spectacular dance traditons in the world:

Zlatna Mountain (Vancouver) - South Slavic tradition
The vocal harmony quartet "Zlatna Mountain" with special guests will present songs from Macedonia and surrounding areas.

Princeton Porch Party (Princeton)- English tradition
Jon Bartlett and Rika Ruebsaat will lead an ensemble of singers and musicians from across the pacific northwest to showcase English sea shanties, pub songs, and other traditional genres.

Forrás Banda (Vancouver/Seattle) - Hungarian Tradition
Peasant folk music from Hungary and Transylvania played on violins, violas, double-bass and cimbalom. Guest dancers and singers will join Forrás Banda in traditional "Asztali Nóták" (table songs). http://www.ForrasBanda.com

Other features to look forward to:

- Cash bar by Transformation Projects, with high quality wines and draft beer
- Sausages by JNZ Deli
- Georgian singing and dancing workshops on Saturday afternoon, led by Onefourfive. Tickets and info at tablesongsworkshops.brownpapertickets.com

There are two types of tickets: the feast price includes a multiple-course Georgian meal, with seating at 6:30pm. The second option allows latecomers to enter after 9pm to enjoy the party at a much lower ticket price.

Contact us if you have any youth in your group, or a large group that wishes to sit together. There will be options regarding vegetarian meals and allergies once you proceed to buy a ticket.

(Note that the Friday and Saturday events will be the same program)
