The Story of Ram
Talking monkeys, shape-shifting deer, and ten-headed demons: Mandala Arts is proud to present the thrilling tale of a brave soldier, Ram, who must save his beautiful wife Sita from the clenches of a conniving demon king. The ancient epic "Ramayana," recounted for centuries throughout South and Southeast Asia, will come to life on November 18th at Walter Payton College Prep, in Chicagos Old Town neighborhood. Mandala Arts will commission a global team of artists to create this family friendly performance that will introduce audiences of all ages to the timeless story with its enduring themes of family, loyalty, and bravery. Showcasing the talents of dancers of South Asia, from India to Bali, The Story of Ram will feature colorful visuals and compelling action that make the story accessible to culturally-specific and general audiences alike.
