Sounds of Silents
John and Laura Allnutt will be showcasing live music and sound effects to four short silent movies, Winsor McCay's The Flying House, Lotte Reiniger's Cinderella, Buster Keaton's One Week, and Harold Lloyd's Just Neighbors. These four films were produced between 1919-1922, and the musical selections span from the classical era to modern melodies. Several percussion and piano students will also share music and percussive effects. This will take place in the sanctuary at White Oak Pond Church in Richmond, Kentucky, and 10% of the ticket sales will go back to White Oak Pond Church. The rest of the proceeds will go towards future silent film events.
