Andrew Finn Magill and Cesar Garabini
Finn is back in town, fresh from the launch of his new CD both in Rio and Asheville. The album is mostly originals and inspired by the Brazilian traditions he spent studying in Rio de Janeiro: samba, choro, forró, MPB, Bossa Nova. Choro music is the predecessor of the well known Brazilan Samba and Nossa nova musical styles. That said, there's a healthy dose of jazz and American influence as well! Cesar Grarbini, an Brazilian-Italian citizen of the world, who is currently living in New York will complete the duo. His musical specialty is Choro, which he deftly performs on a 7 -string guitar. Cesar is a well respected musician, teacher and performer. In the past 7 years he has performed at Jazz at Lincoln Center, Jazz Standard, Birdland, Columbia University, the Museum of Modern Art, with a monthly residence at Barbes. He has worked with Anat Cohen, Olli Soikkeli and Tim Connell. He has been featured on NPR, NBC and Global. We invite you into our living room to celebrate Finn's newest accomplishments and to experience a fine evening of Brazilian music. Concert at 7:00 PM, door open at 6:30. Seat Donations $17.00 Please bring a snack to share, your favorite beverage, and be ready for some great conversation and wonderful music!
