Alice Gomez and Madalyn Blanchett, Flute Dreams Duo
Alice and her sister Madalyn will offer a great evening with flute, guitar and piano.
Alice Gomez is internationally known as one of the leading composer/performers in the renaissance of the Native American flute. "Flute Dreams" ranks as one of the most popular in a long list of releases including "The Healing Flute," "Sky Prayer" and "Journeys of the Flute."
Alice is internationally recognized for her concert music, compositions, musical talent and creativity. Professor Gomez teaches music for percussion, guitar, electric bass, piano, and several other instrument groupings as a highly sought expert. Gomez has received numerous composer awards from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. Alice has served as Composer-in-Residence with the San Antonio Symphony, the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center and other centers.
Madalyn Blanchett has been an Instructor of Music at San Antonio College and has performed with many professional ensembles, including the Santa Fe Desert Chorale. She grew up in San Antonio playing in a variety of Latino bands, with her sister Alice Gomez, and other family members. Since 1972, she has performed with the San Antonio Early Music Ensemble, specializing on the recorder.
