Tango 21 presents MARIANO BARREIRO TANGO TRIO with dancing by Jorge Niedas & Liz Sung of Tango 21
Featuring Mariano Barreiro (piano, Buenos Aires), Charles Gorczynski (bandoneon, Oakland, CA) and Santiago Cursach (guitar, Buenos Aires). This night of tango features a concert set as well as live music for social dancers.
Doors open 7:00 pm Concert starts 7:30 pm, followed by live music milonga Milonga ends at 11:30 pm!
$25 in advanced, includes concert and Milonga La Baldosita. $30 at the door!
About the musicians:
Mariano Barreiro is one of the foremost tango pianists in tango today, having performed and recorded with some of the best tango musicians in Argentina, including Horacio Romo, Pablo Agri, Horacio Cabarcos, and more. His trios under his own name and that of Tango BC have been recognized in the United States and Europe on international tours.
Santiago Cursach is a guitarist, arranger, composer and teacher of tango and folklore. Santiago has toured Europe and North America for concert halls and milongas. He has recorded with celebrated musicians such as Horacio Romo, Pablo Agri, Esteban Riera, Guillermo Ferrer (of Puglieses orchestra), among other recognized artists.
Charles Gorczynski is a bandoneonist and composer from Oakland, California. Charles composes music without stylistic restrictions, fundamentally centered in tango with influences in modern jazz and contemporary chamber music. His compositions and collaborative works have been released with the record labels 482 Music, Serein, Ropeadope Records, and Front Forty Press.
