BWax is proud to host another Fat Tuesday party at the legendary Elbo Room in San Francisco, featuring house-packing Brazilian and Latin inspired bands, dancers and DJs.

Sang Matiz has been performing a collection of original and cover songs for 7 years, fusing energetic World and Afro-Brazilian/Peruvian beats with contemporary rhythms such as Pop, Jazz, and Funk. They've perfected a unique combination of styles that is best described as catchy, syncopated melodies with flamenco-styled finger picking.

Fogo na Roupa was founded in 1989 by his direction, Fogo has grown to be a diverse community of revelers and carnavalescos rooted in the study of Afro-Brazilian dance and percussion. Mestre Aceituno developed a strong SFCarnaval contingent of upto 150 participants, a performing company, and ignited a community of youth.
Fogo Na Roupa remains today under the direction of Jose Rivera and Metzi Henriquez, with the same blazing energy that captures all... dedicated to the legacy of its original founder Mestre Carlos Aceituno. Axe!

Xaxado Mission is a San Francisco based Brazilian band that specializes in Forró, a genre of music originated in Northeastern Brazil.
Our repertoire brings high energy songs from masters Luiz Gonzaga and Jackson do Pandeiro, in addition to a few Carimbo fusions, and Samba sets tailored for dancing the hours away.
We play both classic and modern Forró songs, and our instrumentation consists of authentic Forró instruments like the zabumba, accordion, triangle, seven string guitar, pandeiro, winds and bass, sometimes harmonica. If youve never heard of Forró, but enjoy dancing to styles like salsa, cumbia, samba, then you wont want to miss Xaxado Mission!
