Russell Simmons and Heart & Soul Magazine present Neycha's The Holy Hell of Hope: Music As Sanctuary
DOING/LIVING
New York, NY
Share this event:

Called a new American badass by Time Out New York, Neycha, a singer-songwriter, former celebrity life coach and performing artist, will be the featured artist-in-ceremony on October 14th at DOING/LIVING's 2nd floor gallery, 218 W. 57th Street in Manhattan.

Neycha's residency, presented in part by Emmett & Sheila Dennis, Lomar Farms, Chic Chat with Cathleen, Player Endorsement,  Carolina Dynasty, and Sharon Kopacz and in partnership with media sponsor Heart & Soul Magazine will see the conversion of the DOING/LIVING gallery space into a sanctuary where the vibration of the secular is raised to the sacred through music, storytelling and ancient rituals.

A multimedia presentation complete with music and video will live in the space paired with a ceremonial concert performed by Neycha and her band on Saturday, October 14th.  The evening will also host a special mediation led by sacred sensuality coach Anita Kopacz, along with the "straight/no chaser" crossfading for which Neycha is perhaps best known.  Featured also is a special video message on hope and blessing by Michael B. Beckwith, created specifically for this event.

The evening is inspired by Neycha's eagerly anticipated third album, The Holy Hell of Hope, and will launch her tour where she will offer pop-up sanctuaries along the east coast.

In the artist's words:
The Holy Hell of Hope experience is music as the sanctuary we enter to soothe, inquire, invoke, escape and ultimately transcend what haunts us.  The songs place us in ceremony with ourselves and help us probe our tragedies and our absurdities and give us powerful new symbols to transform what is seemingly pointless into purpose.

Guests are invited to dress comfortably, with a pair of your favorite socks on - - -
and encouraged to bring an open heart, a yoga or prayer mat if you wish, and a willingness to dance, cry, bear witness, connect, share or heal.

Sacred objects for the shrine are welcomed.
