Kabeer by Shekhar Sen
Kabeer is a musical mono act play depicting the story of great 15th-century reformist, poet, and philosopher of India, Kabeer. During the play, Mr. Shekhar Sen will sign 45 song sequences conveying the poets message of peace, devotion to Lord, love of fellowmen, compassion for all beings and moral principles of good and noble living. Kabeer was conceived, written, composed, directed and acted by Mr. Shekhar Sen. Kabeer has been performed for over 350 times with great success in various countries.
Born to musicologist parents, Mr. Shekhar Sen established himself as a singer with a different style by singing creations of medieval poets such as Rakshan, Raheem, Lalitkishori, Bhooshan, Bihari and many others. The government of India bestowed one of the highest civilian honors of Padamshri to Shekhar Sen in 2015 to recognize his contributions to music and culture. He has performed more than 1,000 live performances all over the world and released more than 188 cassettes and CDs.
