Sound of Silent Film Festival
ACM's popular Sound of Silent Film Festival returns to the Music Box Theater for the 12th year, presenting an all-new program of modern silent films from around the world with newly commissioned scores performed live.
Notable films in this year's festival include Stacey Steers' stunning Edge of Alchemy, Martin Pickles' homage to French film pioneer Georges Méliès, recently made famous in Scorsese's film Hugo, and Jasper Lee's timely Deja Vu Deluge about the clash of civilizations during the Spanish Conquest of South America.
Comedies like Steve Stein's hilarious short Soup and Nick Bolton's Life, one man's epic quest to have his toast just the way he likes it, round out an eclectic program.
All films will be screened with live musical accompaniment by Chicago composers.
