------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Join Yiddishkayt for an unmissable concert and workshop with Alicia Svigals, the worlds leading klezmer fiddler and a founder of the Grammy-winning Klezmatics, who she co-directed for seventeen years.
Svigals will play euphoric klezmer fiddle music, and sing Yiddish songs old and new, accompanied by Cory Beers on the cymbalom, a large hammered dulcimer with a sound as celestial as harp.
In the pre-concert workshop for advanced beginners to pros, Alicia will take participants on a tour of the basic klezmer dance forms and melodic modes. Especially for strings, but all instruments are welcome.
Light refreshments provided.
Monday January 16 3:30-5:30pm workshop: $30 7-8:30pm concert: $20 Combined workshop + concert discount rate: $40
You can pre-purchase tickets online here or pay cash/check at the door. This house event in Woodland Hills will fill quickly, so be sure to RSVP at events@yiddishkayt.org to secure your spot and receive location details.
