Frankie Gavin Solo US Tour
Frankie Gavin's playing over the years is regarded as amongst the tops in terms of quality and style. Needing no introduction essentially to anyone even remotely interested in traditional music, he returns to Kathleen's Cottage for this one time gig on a Friday night, armed with what has become known as one of the biggest repertoires of traditional music in one man anywhere in the world. He also has a great store of stories, and is not shy about telling them! Known as well for his work with the seminal and ground-breaking group De Dannan, Frankie has recorded several solo CDs, and in many other iterations. This will be an evening of pure trad and fiddle fireworks. Not to be missed.
Gavin has played and recorded with Andy Irvine, The Rolling Stones, Elvis Costello, Stéphane Grappelli, and Frankie Goes to Hollywood, and in 2010 became reputedly the fastest fiddle-player in the world, with an entry in the Guinness Book of Records.
This will be just one of those "special" nights you will remember forever. Bound to sell out rapidly, so don't delay.
The Kathleen's Cottage Mullen's Room series launched with Frankie Gavin in June of 2015 and has already created many memorable, intinate, informal presentations in a truly atmospheric place which was created by Maryann Parkhurst. Hosted by Maryann, these gatherings feature core performers from many aspects of traditional music as well as special guests, and conversations around the music. As is the custom of Kathllen's Cottage, it is anticipated informal and dynamic post concert sessiuns will be a feature.

There is a Fiddlers Workshop with Frankie from 6:00pm to 7:00pm with a separate concert at 7:30pm. These are separate ticketed events.
