ZOE 6/26 music premiere: Zombie Origins and Evolutions Project at HAMOC
This event will feature the complete, world premiere performances of music commissioned from Jean "Rudy" Perrault and Sabrina C. D. Jean Louis for the ZOE (Zombie: Origins and Evolution) project.
The ZOE project is an international event in Chicago and Haiti in which artists, musicians and dancers collectively work on a series of exhibitions and a feature documentary that examines the origins of the zombie in Haiti and its evolution in America into a modern day pop culture icon. The ZOE project attempts to understand the symbolism, facts and the cultural significance of zombies.
This music was commissioned for the ZOE Project, with HAMOC hosting its world premiere.
The ZOE project is, in part, supported by a generous grant from The Chicago Community Trust.
