THE FUNDRAISER~ Let's talk about farming and villages and the future...
The Farm Village Company is a "next generation economy" venture to buy organic farms from retiring farmers without successors, and convert them into farm villages. Demonstration projects, like this one, can increase cooperative farm livelihood opportunities and demonstrate sustainable living.
It is one way to support an organic economy that allows us to adapt to, and perhaps even reverse climate change. ____________________________________________________
The Farm Village Company is a program of Economics for Peace Institute, est. 2009 www.econ4peace.org
ECONOMICS FOR PEACE INSTITUTE is a registered nonprofit in Colorado, but not yet a 501c3. That means, tix and donations are NOT yet tax deductible. Our apologies. We are restarting after 5 years of "on farm" learning. Myriem is Founder and Director; she and the BOD plan to resume operations in 2016 based in Santa Fe and Boulder, Colorado.
We will let our email list recipients know as soon as we've applied to the IRS for 501c3 status; from that point forward, all donations are tax deductible. We've set sights on 501c3 status by year end. ____________________________________________________
MORE ABOUT THE FARM VILLAGE COMPANY, We draw upon the growing pool of millennial agrarians, young retirees and seasoned farmers seeking opportunities to live and work in co-housing type settings with "on-farm" livelihoods. We start with highly-structured recruitment as with any startup and after a few years of support in communications and business development, hand over the reins to an emerging cooperative that buys back the land.
Help start a farm village at White Buffalo (ask for "the plan"). To create a farm village at WBF, we have to act fast. Wayne, the farm's pioneering organic farmer, has himself in a financial pickle and we are trying to restructure to support the best outcome for everyone! The plan for farm villages would work well in New Mexico, too; but we are in a hurry to help Wayne and set this up on this very special farm with senior rights to our region's cleanest water. www.whitebuffalofarm.org ____________________________________________________

Myriem is also working on a book of stories of White Buffalo Farm, est. 1974, and next steps; also working on a book about quality of life research for political philosophers, community organizers and staff planners.
