Animaterra Women's Chorus - My Heart is Ready
Animaterra Women's Chorus joins the City of Keene in celebrating Jonathan Daniels, native of Keene and martyr for Civil Rights. The Spring Concert begins with the best loved songs of that time (with plenty of opportunity for you to sing with us). We also celebrate the promise of Spring with song - from the serious and majestic to the silly and fun sounds of the frogs in the ponds. Thoughts of peace follow, sung with the aegis of St. Patrick, 1000 Grandmothers and our English/Hebrew/Arabic quadlibet.
Animaterra is now in its 18th year, with founding director Allison Aldrich Smith. We are open to all women in the area. We love bringing you vocal music, mostly a cappella, sometimes with percussion or piano accompaniment, from many cultures and eras, often in other languages.
A donation from concert proceeds will be made to Monadnock Developmental Services for Life Art, which supports community for people with special needs.
We hope to see you: in Keene, May 9th, or in Peterborough, May 10th.
