Can I Live was started in 2013 by David Baron and Klaus Georis while cooking together in Oakland. "We wanted to give people a true 'dining experience', one where they could put down their culinary guard and let us do our thing."
They called it "Can I Live?" an expression of art and pent-up self-expression from dutifully following someone else's culinary blueprint. Their goal is to create a different type of dining experience that allows chefs to take control while diners "let their culinary guard down." With the motto of "one should live to eat, not eat to live."
