Dirty Earth was founded in April 2016 by Bonnie Fairbrass.
Bonnie has studied ceramics part time, on and off since 2008, first with Shropshire Potter and mosaic artist Jenny Foord and more recently in Edinburgh with Yvette Hunwick.
She is what you call a dirty outsider artist, with extensive yet mostly unqualified experience in several art forms such as textiles, glass, photography, stand-up comedy, screenwriting and radio production and even as a Wedding DJ!
Bonnie made the move from part time to full time potter and teacher in November when she moved from a shared studio space into her own unit at Abbeymount Studios, Edinburgh. Abbeymount studios is run by Out of the Blue arts and entertainment trust.
The Dirty Earth studio is a fully equipped ground floor studio focussing on hand building and sculpture classes for everyone aged 1-100.
Classes are small and intimate with a focus on creating a fun and relaxing environment. Lessons are creative and informative with each participant receiving the skills and encouragement to undertake exciting projects in clay construction that result in beautiful, functional and sculptural pieces to treasure or to share.
Bonnie believes that clay should be accessible to everyone, whatever level of skills or knowledge they have. Whether youve had classes before, or you havent touched clay since you were in primary school, Bonnie has a class to suit your needs.
From family drop in sessions and after school clubs to 10 week beginner courses, 4 week focussed courses, private group classes and one to one sessions, Dirty Earth studio offers something for everyone.
Bonnie looks forward to welcoming you to the studio and helping to nurture your creative talents.
