EDU RIBEIRO!!! This rare and exciting performance will feature Brazilian master drummer with a trio for an intimate concert on Monday, March 23rd. One of the greatest and most creative musicians anywhere!

Two times Grammy winner and three times Grammy nominee, Edu Ribeiro is a drummer, composer and educator from São Paulo, Brasil. Born in Florianópolis  SC, where he began his professional career and his musical studies at the age of six.In 1996 obtained his degree in Popular Music at UNICAMP (Campinas State University). In 1997 he moved to São Paulo City and start working as a professional drummer.

As a leader and a co-leader Edu Ribeiro has released 20 albums so far, and collaborated as a drummer with a great number of artists, such as, Paquito de Rivera, Randy Brecker, Maria Schneider, Yamandú Costa, Hamilton de Hollanda, João Bosco, Chico Pinheiro, Leny Andrade, Leila Pinheiro, Stacey Kent, Mike Stern, Joyce, Ivan Lins, and many others.

As a drummer, he recorded some alward winning albuns:  the Randy Breckers album Randy in Brazil (summit Records, 2008) wich won a Grammy Award as Best Contemporary Jazz Album in 2009, the Eliane Elias álbuns: Made In Brazil wich won Grammy Award as Best Latin Jazz Album 2016 and Dance of Time wich won Latin Grammy Award Winner for Best Jazz Album 2014.

Together with Fabio Torres (piano) and Paulo Paulelli (bass) he founded the Trio Corrente with whom he recorded five CDs: Corrente (2006), Volume Two (2011), Song For Maura (2012)  with Paquito de Rivera, which received the Grammy Award as Best Latin Jazz Album 2013 and again an year later the Latin Grammy Award Winner for Best Jazz Album 2014, Volume Três (2016) and Trio Corrente & Orquestra Jazz Sinfônica de São Paulo (2018). His latest álbum, Folia de tReis, was nominees for Best Instrumental Album category at Latin Grammy 2019.

Edu is currently teaching drums at Santa Marcelina College (FASM) and is also a music coordinator at EMESP (São Paulo State Music School).

Masterclasses and workshops in Brazil and abroad, at music festivals and universities. Among these works are: California Brazil Camp (2006, 2007) and residences for a week in Jullliard School of Music in New York in the years 2012, 2013, 2016 and 2017.
