Join us for a night of delicious, local, and sustainable plant based food cooked by California chefs Kim LaVere and Alana Joy Eckhart from the Bay Area.
This dinner will be a fundraiser to support Moloa'a Organica'a, a local 28.5 acre certified organic farm, who has provided food to the community for the last 18 years. All profit will go towards infrastructure including building roofs for all work trade dwellings and wash station areas. Help make this dream a reality by attending and supporting the good work of feeding thousands of people the best food grown with 100% love.
Chefs Kim and Alana will be traveling from Northern California where their roots are grounded in promoting food as medicine as their number one goal. They believe that food should be sourced from farmers who care about the soil and land producing premier produce to cook with.
About Alana: Alana has been cooking in restaurants around the globe for over 15 years, helping her discover her passion for curating personal dining experiences as a private chef now in the Napa Valley. Supporting local farmers, combining her ideas with their beautiful produce, and collaborating with clients who value nourishment is one of her greatest joys. After 12 years cooking on the line in restaurants, experiencing chronic back pain and seeking a sustainable solution, she pursued Yoga Teacher Training on Maui, Hawaii. This was a way to both heal her own body, and begin a career healing others through movement, body awareness, postural correction, and mindfulness. She gravitates towards outdoor yoga and have led countless Goat Yoga classes, supporting animal sanctuaries and combining the healing power of yoga with the heart-opening experience of animal therapy. Her last position as Assistant Director at Goatlandia Farm Animal Sanctuary established her joy of leading a life full of compassion for all living beings on a daily basis. This will be Alana's 9th time on Kauai as she keeps returning to the island and cannot stay away from the beauty it offers.
About Kim: Kim is a former corporate retail director & semi-pro athlete turned Natural Foods Chef, Ayurveda Counselor, and Business & Life Coach. After going through her own personal health struggles with burn-out, stress, poor digestion, and mental fatigue, Kims work now revolves around helping others gain access to more nourishing lives. Kim teaches medicinal foods cooking classes, organizes pop-up dinners to support local farms, cooks at The Occidental Arts & Ecology Center in Sonoma County, and co-hosts wellness retreats around the world that combine her passions for true food, authentic connection, and travel. She is also currently studying western herbalism and loves to weave medicinal foods, herbs, and spices into her cooking. Her newest endeavor has led to her to be the Resident Culinary & Events Director at Green Valley Community Farm + Mill in Sebastopol, CA, a 172-acre property helping others re-connect to the land. This will be her first time on Kauai and she cannot wait to experience the magic!
The two of them together create remarkable and nourishing experiences that are unforgettable to the last bite.
