Bemidji Symphony Orchestra presents the concert A Womans Role.
The Bemidji Symphony Orchestra (BSO) continues its 79th season, Role Play, with the concert A Womans Role on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at the Bemidji High School Auditorium. Dr. Beverly Everett conducts.
Cellist Hannah Holman debuts with the BSO in a concert highlighting famous female cellists! Hannah performs Erich Korngolds Cello Concerto (from the movie Deception), Haydns Concerto in D and Mendelssohns Songs without Words. Dr. Beverly Everett conducts.
Hannah Holman is a cellist with the New York City Ballet Orchestra. Her career has encompassed orchestral and chamber music, solo performances, and teaching. In December 2012 she released her first solo CD, a recording of the complete Cello Sonatas by Bernhard Romberg with pianist Réne Lecuona. In addition to her work with the New York City Ballet Orchestra, which she joined in 2012, Hannah is the principal cellist of the Quad City Symphony, a position she has held since 2008. She began her professional career in England playing with the English String Orchestra under Yehudi Menuhin and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra under Simon Rattle. She divides her time between New York and Iowa City, Iowa.
All seats general admission. Doors open for seating at 2:30 pm. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota, through a grant from the Region 2 Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
