OH, THE PLACES WE WILL GO! Join the Stanbridge Community for an evening of food, wine, live music, and more to benefit the students and programs of Stanbridge Academy. Our annual spring gala fundraiser offers a night to mix and mingle with Stanbridge families, friends, teachers, staff, and board members as we gather to celebrate and raise funds for one of the Bay Area's only K-12 schools for students who learn differently. Read more about the event below, and make an online ticket purchase or donation today. Note: Space is limited; time is running out to purchase your tickets!
THE CAUSE The annual spring gala is Stanbridge Academy's sole fundraising event of the year. Net proceeds from the evening's tickets, donation drawing, and auction will benefit Stanbridge students and programs, including our signature experiential curriculum--the evening's fund-a-need centerpiece, and a program that truly benefits every student at our school.
Throughout the evening, pictures, stories, and videos will highlight Stanbridge's experiential program through the yearsfeaturing trips that have taken our students to places like Yosemite National Park, Angel Island, Washington, D.C., the Ashland Shakespeare Festival, Westminster Woods, Tomales Bay, and a myriad of other locations within the Bay Area and beyond.
From local day trips that directly tie-in to classroom curriculum, to overnight excursions that help build teamwork, confidence, and self-esteem, experiential trips have been a cornerstone of the Stanbridge program for more than 30 years.
THE VENUE We are excited to host this year's gala at Domenico Winery in San Carlos. This exclusive, spacious setting will allow guests to mingle, mix, and dance all night long. In addition to beer and soft drinks, the open bar will feature a selection of Domenico's award-winning wines. Hors d'oeuvres and hearty appetizers--including a carving station and mashed potato bar--will also be served throughout the evening.
Domenico Winery is located just off of Highway 101 in San Carlos, and free parking is available in the adjacent lot. Formal dress is not required; appropriate attire for the evening is anything from business casual to cocktail chic.
THE MUSIC We are thrilled to present live music performed by the jazz combo Jesse Foster and Friends. Led by vocalist Jesse Foster, the quintet includes bassist Tyler Harlow, guitarist Cedricke Dennis, pianist Parker Grant, and Mark Lee on drums.
Individually, these musicians have worked with headliners such as Sly Stone, Bobby McFerrin, Mary Wilson, Keb Mo, Sting, The Pointer Sisters, Bob Weir, and more. Collectively, their decades of combined experience span the generations of jazz, funk, fusion, rock, Motown, R&B, and pop. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to hear these staples of the Bay Area music scene, so come prepared to get down and dance!
THE PRIZES Donation drawings will be held throughout the evening for a variety of prize packages, including multi-night getaways at timeshares in Hawai'i and Lake Tahoe; a night on the town in San Francisco; LEGO building kits, and more. Door prizes will also be given away, and the evening's program will be emceed by Stanbridge's own Head of High School/resident improv artist, Jay Huston.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS Tickets can be purchased online via this Brown Paper Tickets website. You may also purchase tickets at the Stanbridge Academy Main Office.
