Church Basement Ladies: A Mighty Fortress (Is Our Basement)
"Church Basement Ladies: A Mighty Fortress (Is Our Basement)" is a delightful, relatable, light-hearted musical comedy set in 1960 in the basement kitchen of East Cornucopia Lutheran Church in northern Minnesota.
Deep friendships and faith abound as the characters navigate the inevitable changes in their community and their own lives. Beverly is preparing for her confirmation, Her mother, Karin, is learning to drive. Mavis and Vivian are getting ready for the county fair and Pastor is smitten with the new parish worker from The Cities. To quote the Pastor, " A lot is on these ladies minds!"
Based on the writings of Janet Martin and Suzann Nelson, this script is written by Greta Grosch. The music and lyrics are by Drew Jansen. "A Might Fortress" is the 4th show in the Church Basement Ladies series.
Adams Community Theatre has shared the first two shows, "Church Basement Ladies" and "Church Basement Ladies: The Second Helping" and we look forward to bringing "A Mighty Fortress" to our community! It promises to be an excellent showcase for our local talent! Play on!!
