Holiday Club at Edinburgh FC / EFC
Holiday Club was formed in 2018 by friends from Edinburgh who share a love of travelling whilst playing music together. Luisa Brown (fiddle) and Freya Rae (flute and whistle) are at the forefront of Holiday Club as composers and performers. They play with a large roster of accompanying musicians on guitar and bodhran who join them for gigs and sunny holidays!

Unfortunately Luisa Brown is not available for this Edinburgh FC gig but there is such 'strength in depth' amongst local musicians that we will hear instead ...
FREYA RAE
Freya Rae is a flute and whistle player living in Edinburgh. This Edinburgh FC gig is the first outing of her project "Divergence" a showcase using the silver boehm system flute in traditional music. In 2013 Freya graduated with a 1st class honours degree in Performance from Newcastle Universitys Folk and Traditional Music course and has since toured and recorded albums with Iain Fraser, Manx music group Birlinn Jiarg, Holiday Club, and Freya Rae & Louis Bingham. Freya has a real passion for teaching and passing on the tradition and loves to find ways to encourage learning and enjoyment of music. For this EFC gig. Freya will be joined by some phenomenal musicians including Siannie Moodie on clàrsach and Eryn Rae on fiddle.
SIANNIE MOODIE
Siannie Moodie is a Scottish clàrsach player. Originally from the Highlands, she now performs solo thoughout the UK and with various folk groups including An Conasg and The Outland Trio. Siannie has been working on her solo album and has recorded with The Brothers Gillespie and Julia Dignan. She is passionate about bringing music to the community and is committed to inspiring a new generation of musicians, working for organisations such as Live Music Now, Music in Hospitals and Care, Fèisean Nan Gaidheal, Artlink and more.
ERYN RAE
From the Scottish Borders, Eryn Rae has been playing the fiddle from the age of seven years under the tuition of renowned Shetland fiddler, Catriona Macdonald. Now based in Glasgow, Eryn recently won the title of BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year (2022), and shortly afterwards completed her studies at the prestigious Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, receiving a First-Class Honours Degree in Traditional Music. In 2017, she was also placed as one of four finalists in the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award 2017 which took her to the Royal Albert Hall, London. In March 2022, Eryn had the opportunity to play to a sold-out OVO Hydro in Glasgow in the support band, which remains a personal highlight in her career so far.

UCC has relatively easy access for wheelchair users. There's a portable ramp to enable the wheelchair to get past 3-4 steps from the street to the main door. Once inside everything is on the same level (ground floor) - performance room, bar and disabled-friendly toilets.
