Our Gift of Music: Reunited in Song
Gilroy High School / Solorsano Middle School Choral Ensembles Winter Concert
Monday, December 13th and Tuesday, December 14, 7:30pm at Gilroy High School Student Center
$8 adults and $5 students
COVID-19 mitigation measures must be followed. No exceptions. Any patron not following mitigation measures will be asked to leave.
All audience members must wear a mask regardless of vaccination status. The audience will be seated socially distanced. Singers will be seated separately from the audience and performed fully masked. If they arrive prior to 7:25pm, every effort will be made to seat pre-sale ticket holders in the front half of the venue.
We are very excited to present to you the literature we have been rehearsing this quarter. The theme of this year's choral concert series is Reunited in Song. As a choral community, we are going to spend the year reflecting upon our own experiences as well as others who create our community. As choral artists, we create together, collaboratively. In March of 2020, COVID-19 slammed the door on our community. Over the past year and a half we have longed to be together again and finally, we get to. Experiencing such loss of our community was devastating are we are using song to reunite, reconnect, and reboot.
Through the exploration of song, we hope to gain a greater appreciation for the variety of viewpoints, cultural diversity, social realities, and how we might better understand those who are different from ourselves as we return to in-person activities. It is our hope that these considerations expand our students' community as we explore a tapestry of the human experience through song.
Through this music, we find a deeper connection within ourselves, our colleagues, and our community. Please join us. Music is an integral part of human history, the ability to listen with understanding and derive meaning from it is essential if we are to gain a broad cultural and historical perspective.
We hope you can join us at 7:30 pm on Monday, December 13th, or Tuesday, December 14th at the GHS Student Center. If you are a Gilroy Unified employee, please present your GUSD ID for complimentary admission to the concert (though all donations are always welcome) and we look forward to presenting an evening of interesting and diverse choral music. If you have not had to opportunity to attend one of our concerts, please join us.
