Overview:

Stories doesn't have to end in the classroom. There are stories that prompts adults to think deeper and expand our own learning. This session highlights a parallel process. One in which honors and respects the stories of children and the adult that interacts with them. One that holds in mind the learning process of both the child and the adult learner.

This 75 minute workshop is an examination of ourselves and what is at the core of our work as pedagogical leaders - centering humanity as the foundation for learning.

Come join us for a dialogue and storymap of a journey from childhood to adulthood mapping the stories of a pedagogical leader as she navigates a world filled with confrontations, contradictions and discoveries on the journey.

Why I Should Attend:

Our evolution as educators and pedagogical leaders never stops. Our pedagogy begins from the moment we emerge from our families and begin to interact with the world around us.  Every experience and interaction creates an imprint on our heart and minds as we experience the world around us.

Joy for your Journey is designed to provide you a different perspective about teaching and learning. Told through Kelly's story, together we'll reflect and think about how our behaviors, stance, and beliefs shape who we are with each other which shapes how we are with children. By turning the lens inwards, we'll learn how we can support ourselves and our colleagues emotionally, organizationally, intellectually, and pedagogically.
