Chicago Blues Camp Blues Vocals/Comping
Chicago Blues Camp is a unique 5-day immersive learning and performance opportunity for musicians 22 and older to learn and play authentic Chicago Blues with leading blues performers. Chicago Blues Camp is held May 31 - June 4, 2020, the week prior to the Chicago Blues Festival. Learn Chicago Blues vocals from Chicago Blues Master and celebrated Woman of the Blues Deitra Farr. Ms. Farr has been performing Chicago Blues since the 1970s. In 2015 she was inducted into the Chicago Blues Hall of Fame.
In this class you will apply the concepts below to 16 Chicago Blues Standards individually and as part of an ensemble:
How to sing properly and preparation for singing. How to sing blues in your own voice. Choosing songs that are appropriate for you and putting together a repertoire. How to tell the band/accompanist what you want and need. Stage presentation
