Our Little Poland is a coming-of-age story that follows one year in the life of a group of Japanese students who enroll in the Polish Language and Culture Studies program at the University of Tokyo. One of the compulsory tasks for second-year students is to stage a play in Polish. In his documentary Matej Bobrik tells the story of their struggles, not only with the Polish language, but also of how their plans clash with reality.
Co roku kilkanascioro mlodych Japonczykow rozpoczyna studia na Wydziale Polonistyki Tokijskiego Uniwersytetu Studiow Zagranicznych. Jednym z zadan obowiazkowych dla studentow drugiego roku jest wystawienie sztuki w jezyku polskim. W swoim dokumencie Matej Bobrik opowiada o ich walce, nie tylko z jezykiem polskim, ale takze o tym, jak ich plany mocno zderzyly sie z rzeczywistoscia.
