Nritya Samooha - Guest Artist: Vijayashri Vittal - "Anubhoothi"
Nritya Samooha is proud to present Vijayashri Vittal as a guest artist. Vijayashri is a disciple of the Bharatanatyam exponent Vidwan Dr. Vijay Madhavan and is also a disciple of the renowned vocalist, Vidushi Bombay Jayashri.
Vijayashri's new production, "Anubhoothi" features her dancing to her own tunes with a grand orchestra and focusses on her journey so far through dance and music, and their interdependency.
The presentation is in a format of a chamber concert setting that allows for better interaction with the artist and get a closer look at the effort that goes into a dance performance.
Following the performance will be an interactive session on dance for students of dance. (Please email nritya.samooha@gmail.com if you would like to sign up for the session.)

Every artist pours in their soul to bring a beautiful art form to you with an opportunity for better interaction as well. A major portion of the ticket sales goes toward being able to give more such opportunities for artists and hosting them through our chamber concerts, to help keep their art alive.
About the Artist:
Born and raised in a family of musicians, Vijayashri Vittal started her musical training from her grandmother, Krishnaveni and her father, Vidwan Vittal Ramamurthy, an internationally acclaimed violinist and underwent training also under Vidwan SP Ramh, before coming under the advance training of Vidushi Bombay Jayashri. Vijayashri has been learning Bharatanatyam under the able tutelage of Dr. Vijay Madhavan from a very young age of 5, and was truly blessed to perform her Bharatanatyam Arangetram in 2008 in the gracious presence of the legendary violin Maestro, Padmabhushan Lalgude Jayaraman Sir.
Vijayashri has given several successful Carnatic vocal concerts and Bharatanatyam performances in the annual Music and Dance Season in Chennai and has performed in several prestigious venues across India, and now is currently on her first US music and dance tour.
