Piano and Cello Masterworks
The program presented by Mr. Kibbe and Ms. Mineva will include sonatas for cello and piano by Beethoven and Debussy, a work by Takemitsu and a new work by Auerbach.
Hailing originally from the west coast, cellist Peter Kibbe currently enjoys a career playing and teaching his cello from his home in Baltimore, where he is currently a member of several local ensembles and orchestras, including work with the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, Annapolis Symphony, and Maryland Symphony, among others. Also highly sought as a technician for interpreting modern music, Mr. Kibbe is a founding member of groups The Pique Collective, The Lunar Ensemble, Mind on Fire, and a recent addition to Naked Eye Ensemble, all of whom are champions of new music and living composers. Having received formal training from several fantastic teachers on both US coasts and earning a degree from The Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, Peter currently enjoys sharing his cello playing in small salon and chamber concerts, in orchestral performances, and with his studio of dedicated cello students.
