Temporary Resonance
This piano trio needs no introduction to Humboldt County lovers of fine classical music. Back for their third time as core Performers are Terrie Baune, Carol Jacobson and John Chernoff. The trio will be playing the piano trios by Chausson and Dvorak.
Terrie is concertmaster of the Eureka Symphony and the North State Symphony, co-concertmaster of the Oakland Symphony, a member of the professional new-music ensembles Earplay, New Music Works and Wooden Fish. She is Associate Director of the Humboldt Chamber Music Workshop at Humboldt State University and has been a member of the National Symphony of Washington DC and a member of the Auckland Philharmonia of New Zealand. For over twenty years Terrie was concertmaster of The Women's Philharmonic, during which time she participated in over a hundred premieres and made several recordings. Most recently she toured a Libby Larson violin concerto, a world premiere. Terrie graduated from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music with a Bachelor of Music degree. Terrie Baune returns as TBAM Music Director.
Carol Jacobson has been the Music Director and Conductor of the Eureka Symphony for more than a decade. An accomplished cellist, Ms. Jacobson earned her bachelors degree at Humboldt State University, with further studies at the Salzburg Mozarteum, The Royal Danish Conservatory and the Netherlands Royal Conservatory in The Hague. She was a member of the Netherlands National Ballet Orchestra in Amsterdam, the Netherlands Radio Symphony, the Oslo Opera Orchestra and the Netherlands Strijkers Ensemble. Carol has worked with many conductors including, Valerie Gergiev, Kent Nagano, Jaap van Zweden, Sixten Ehrling and Edo deWaart. She was conductor of the Humboldt State University Orchestra and directed the Humboldt Music Academy. She is principal cellist in the North State Symphony.
John Chernoff is an active pianist in a variety of musical genres, performing across the United States, including appearances at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., the Legion of Honor in San Francisco, and Symphony Space in New York City. John has also served as an accompanist for the Heifetz International Music Institute, coach for the Sequoia Chamber Music Workshop, Humboldt Chamber Music Workshop and soloist with the Eureka Symphony. He is a great favorite with the Humboldt classical music community.
