You're invited to a 75 minute yoga class. This class will feature grounding exercises, pranayama breathing techniques, Laws of Attraction meditation, static poses, and a Baron Baptiste inspired rhythm of one-breath/one-movement.
Music will be curated to match the energy of relaxation, healing, and The Culture.
Your instructor, Cookie, is a 400+ Hour Certified yoga teacher who specializes in the fields of trauma-informed care and diversity and inclusion work. Practicing and teaching yoga throughout the city of Portland, Cookie realized there is very little space to exist in a marginalized body when seeking movement for wellness.
One goal of this class is to infuse that expertise in aiding students along their path towards wellbeing.
Cookie will offer this class as a gathering for individuals to share energy amongst others who are seeking healing through the self-care of establishing a meditation and asana practice.
All beings are welcome to this class.
This space will prioritize people of color, bigger bodies, femme bodies, trans bodies, Non-binary and Gender-nonconforming folks, chronically-ill peeps, sex workers and anyone seeking inner peace.
Music will be culturally specific to encourage a celebration and reclamation of Black culture and existence.
And all yoga techniques used in class will be attributed to their origins from Himalayan practices through meditation and asana.
Modifications will be available.
Any additional rituals will be credited to my own experience or professionals who specialize in various wellness and healing modalities.
Please bring your own mat and dress comfortably.
(Mats are available to borrow on a first-come-first-serve basis.)
