We are back with our 3rd installment of Bits of Wisdom!

Join us, actress Chelsea Harris (Top Gun: Maverick, Designated Survivor, Grey's Anatomy, NCIS) and award winning actress and filmmaker Amy Argyle (Gone, Frank and Lola, Parker's Anchor) for our monthly event, Bits of Wisdom: An Artist Talk Series!

Real talk, we get it:
*You haven't paid your taxes the past few years and are now terrified of what you'll find out when you do.
*You have been on top of them but not sure how the new tax laws will affect you.
You're not sure how to track and log expenses so you're potentially missing hundreds of dollars in refunds.
You've heard of unemployment, but have no idea if you qualify for it.

No worries and no judgement, we are here to help! Finances can be intimidating if you're not well-informed or organized. Financial clarity is an essential part of a healthy, thriving artistic career.

As promised, we are bringing you a CERTIFIED TAX PROFESSIONAL to teach  us how to responsibly take care of our taxes. New tax laws were introduced for 2018, so what does this mean for you as a contractor? As a W-2 employee? As an incorporated individual? What does it even mean to be an incorporated individual??

Our guest, Emily Churchill, a certified tax preparer/EA and fellow actress, will walk us through the new tax laws, as well as touching on the following:

- What kinds of records and logs should I be keeping?
- What expenses can I still write off in 2018? Are there workarounds?
- My manager has told me to claim more than one dependent....is this legal?
- When should I be incorporating?
- What is the best type of corporation for my needs?
- Should I be paying my taxes quarterly?
- What actions should I take if I'm being audited?
- Unemployment? What? How? When?

Our interview will be followed by a 30 minute Q&A, where Emily will advise on your specific needs. You wont want to miss this event! Be sure to bring something to take notes!!
