Riverview Consort: A Candlelight Christmas
On Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 7:00 PM, the Riverview Consort will perform a Christmas program by candlelight at The Referend Bier Blendery in Hopewell Township, NJ. The Referend practices the neglected art of waiting, of letting nature run its course, to produce a beer of depth and character inimitable through technological shortcuts or chemical interference. We think that makes it the perfect place to escape the holiday commotion with seasonal music from ages past, performed on period instruments and without electronics or amplification. We have selected sacred chants, haunting ballads, and exuberant dances that have been used to mark the season for centuries - so the perfect accompaniment is a beer from The Referend, which specializes in the production of spontaneously fermented beers as practiced by ancient cultures.
