MMCC Los Angeles is a nonprofit hospital that treats sick, injured and malnourished seals and sea lions. Weve provided this vital community service since 1992. Our hospital is in San Pedro, but seals and sea lions are rescued from beaches near you, from north of Zuma to Seal Beach. Hundreds of these protected marine mammals get stranded every year in urgent need of food, medical care and shelter which we provide 365 days a year and during oil spills. We are also home to LAUSDs Center for Marine Studies.
Our education program includes tours, classes, animal viewing, and outreach events for children and adults of all ages. MMCC Los Angeles functions 100% on donations from individuals, foundations, corporations, and limited government grants. Donations directly benefit seals and sea lions by helping to buy food and medical supplies, hire staff, train volunteers, and make vital facility upgrades.
