Patchwerks is excited to present Digital DJing with Traktor Pro Workshop Saturday, March 24, 2018, 12:30 - 7 PM!
Patchwerks resident artist, Cedric Bielski, will facilitate this Digital DJing with Traktor Pro Workshop. The course will be taught on Native Instruments current flagship DJ controller, The Traktor Kontrol S8. This workshop is aimed to teach those who are interested in using Traktor Pro to create DJ Mixes.
This class is for all levels of learners. For those of you new to Traktor and DJing, after this workshop you should have a good foundation to start using the tools needed to mix in Traktor and use that to extend to other formats for DJing. For individuals already familiar with DJing, this class provides information about Traktors unique aspects, such as Stem and Remix decks.
What will be covered:
* Getting Traktors preferences set up to meet your needs and gear
* An in-depth look at Traktor's interface
* An in-depth look into using Traktors Track Decks, Remix Decks, Stem Decks, Mixer, and Effects
* A look into Traktors controller manager, to create custom mappings for MIDI controllers
* How to use external instruments, like drum machines and synthesizers, in sync with Traktor
* An introduction into DJ-mixing techniques such as:
* Beat and tempo matching
* Phrase mixing
* Mixing in key
* EQ/Volume blending
* Creative mixing techniques like looping and using effects for transitions
* Note that turntablism and scratching will not be heavily covered in this course. This course is aimed more towards electronic music enthusiasts who want to creatively mix genres such as Techno, House, Drum & Bass, etc.
Cedric has 6 years experience working in Traktor Pro and is a local event DJ in Seattle. Cedric specializes in mixing electronic dance music and has been a part of the Patchwerks family since our beginning.
Pizza and refreshments will be provided during the break from 3:30-4 PM.
Tickets for Digital DJing with Traktor Pro Workshop at Patchwerks on Saturday, March 24, 2018, noon - 7 PM are $10 and include the cost of pizza.
