Nathan Silver's THIRST STREET at Martha **One Night Only**
The Martha Film Night has returned and for the first time ever we will be presenting the Philly Premiere of a film that is not a documentary about a David! From the mind of one of the most creative and challenging American filmmakers today, Nathan Silver (Stinking Heaven, Uncertain Terms), comes the surreal, evocative, and darkly comic psychodrama, THIRST STREET!
THIRST STREET has earned rave reviews ever since its World Premiere at this year's Tribeca, including a triumphant stamp of adamant adoration from the legend himself John Waters and Best American Narrative Award at the Denver International Film Festival. Immediately when we saw this film at the Maryland Film Festival, we knew it had a home at Martha.
The film is a one-of-a-kind cinematic experience that combines the whimsical colors of a Jacques Demy film with a descent into madness explored by such greats as Lynch, Bergman, and Fassbinder. Featuring stellar performances from fest award-winner Lindsay Burdge and Damien Bonnard and shot on film by acclaimed cinematographer Sean Price Williams (Good Time, Heaven Knows What, Queen of Earth), THIRST STREET is a perfect way to continue our little theater experiment at Martha. So come on out, support independent film, indulge in the tasty food and drink from Martha, and get weird!

About the Film:
On a layover in Paris, prim flight attendant Gina (Lindsay Burdge) has a steamy fling with mustachioed bartender Jérôme (Damien Bonnard). But what the smarmy Frenchman interprets as a simple one-night-stand sends emotionally fragile Gina into a tailspin of romantic obsession. Uprooting her life and moving to Paris in a desperate attempt to be closer to her love, Gina finds herself on a track toward disaster thats both wince inducing and darkly comedic.
