AjA Concert & Cacao Ceremony with Anto (ZAG Friends-giving)
This ZAG event, the Saturday after Thanksgiving, will be a time to gather and connect through shared presence, voice, poetry and cacao and songs. We will begin the night, for those who want to come early with a very casual "Friends-giving". Bring any leftovers you feel to share from your Thanksgiving feast or a simple dessert item. We want to emphasize the casual note here-- this is not a formal meal and you need not knock yourself out by cooking something new. Our feeling is that some people will have more leftovers than they know what to do with, and if you feel to come early and share some food, please do! We will open the doors at 6:30 and munch till 7:30. If you dont have any food to bring, you could consider a beverage to share, or even some compostable plates and silverware (contact us if you want to bring this).
AjA is a duo: Mas, of Yaima, and Jila. They blend acoustic guitar, vocals, flute, and percussion, weaving a soundscape to invoke heart resonance and love. They traverse various spiritual traditions-- a number of their songs are traditional mantras, folkloric or indigenous songs. Many of their songs are quite simple and easy to sing along wiht. Anto of the Zens and founder of the ZAG events will be joining AjA, sharing some of the songs that he and Jila have been working on this year.
Although a lot of the music they share this evening wiill be newer songs on their soon to be released album, this links to their first album, Medicina, released in 2013 https://aja-music.bandcamp.com/
Feel free to bring back jacks, pillows and blankets, and snacks/beverages to share. Doors open at 6:30 pm and concert starts around 7:30pm.
Tickets are $15-30 in advance at http://aja-at-zag.bpt.me/ $20-30 at the door if still available. Age 15yo and younger free admission. **All funds raised will go to the mixing and mastering process of their album coming out in 2018. Thank you!!.**
We would love it if you join us.
