The Walking Hat Trio House Concert
The Walking Hat Trio is Jonas Myers, Cutts Peaslee, and Ryan Donnelly. Based in Seattle, WA, The WHT has played at many of the city's premier jazz venues, including The Royal Room, Vito's, Egan's, and others. Taking a fresh approach to the classic jazz piano trio, The WHT plays catchy, inventive originals and an eclectic selection of jazz and pop tunesclassics and rarities alikewith a focus on keeping things grooving. The result is a unique and infectious sound born of the trio's skill, creativity, and love of playing.

You are invited to join them on Saturday, October 28th at 155 Thorne St., the home of Dave Glenn and Laura Curtis, for an intimate musical experience.

Doors at 7:00 pm, music at 7:30 pm. Please bring your own snacks and drinks, or something to share if you feel so moved.

More about the musicians:

JONAS MYERS grew up in Seattle, WA, and started gigging on bass and piano at age twelve. He played piano in the prestigious Garfield High School Jazz Ensemble, with whom he traveled to New York and Europe. Jonas attended Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA where he earned a BA in English with an emphasis on creative fiction. After living in Walla Walla for six years, Jonas returned to Seattle in 2015 to pursue a career in music. He now plays professionally all over the region, as a solo pianist and with many different groups, including Queenside Castle, The Walking Hat Trio, and Demonym Jacket. He is also writing a novel.


CUTTS PEASLEE has been playing drums and percussion in and around Seattle since 1995.  Although most recently focused on jazz, over the years Cutts has performed and recorded with artists in a wide range styles.  Credits include blues artists such as Eric Two Scoops Moore, Kim Field, the late Dave Conant, and the late Isaac Scott; Louisiana-inspired groups such as the Zydeco Locals, Jockomo, Lafleur et Basile, Hows Bayou, and Billy Wilson; rock bands such as Count Foxy and Thing Changers; the Moisture Festival variety band, Naked Truth; and Americana artists such as Ron Bailey, Joe Miller, Lucky Lawrence, the Rolling Blackouts, and the Electrodes.

Cutts grew up in New York City, where he started playing drums at age 11.  In college he lived in the Boston area, where he studied with noted jazz drummer and educator Alan Dawson for 3 years, and attended Berklee College of Music briefly.  In the early 1990s Cutts lived in New Orleans, where he performed and toured with a number of groups in various styles, including jazz, rock, batucada, New Orleans rhythm & blues, Zydeco, and Cajun music, including the Rounder Records Cajun group, Mamou.


RYAN DONNELLY grew up in the Snoqualmie Valley, where he started playing guitar at the age of 6, then added electric and upright bass at age 11. Ryan played in the jazz band and wind ensemble throughout junior high and high school. He graduated from Central Washington University with a degree in jazz bass performance in 2015, and has since then kept busy playing with well-known jazz musicians in the greater Seattle area such as Kareem Kandi, John Hansen, and Adam Kessler, to name a few. Ryan has had the privilege of performing at the Monterey Jazz Festival in 2015 with the CWU big band. He has also had the privilege of performing the CWU big band with guest artists such as Wycliffe Gordon, Dick Oatts, and Bobby Shew. Ryan also enjoys being a well-rounded musician, playing a wide variety of styles including folk music, musical theater, funk, and on occasion, country. He currently resides in Shoreline, where he is building his private teaching studio, and playing as a sideman with many different ensembles around the greater Seattle area.
