Fat Cheek Kat & Left Hip Pocket will perform at the Rives Theatre's annual Day After Christmas Party on Friday, Dec. 26th. This holiday tradition is always a veritable high school/family reunion with dancing and cold beer!! With a sound that suggests anything but derivative, Fat Cheek Kat (Winston Salem NC) is a funk movement that is irresistible to most. Featuring horn and guitar driven funk with equal amounts soul, this group is bursting with energy and a charismatic likability that is catching on all over the Southeast. Local Martinsville blues/rock band Left Hip Pocket will open the show at 8:30. Music will run until after midnight. Advance tickets $8; door tickets $10
