In an evening promoting community involvement, singer-songwriter and bandleader Kelcy Mae has assembled six New Orleans acts for a night of music, put on by the music community, to honor the hard work of Central City's APEX Youth Center. APEX Youth Center offers the city's youth a place to learn and grow in a safe environment. The multi-genre concert and benefit brings a diverse group of musicians and audiences together in an effort to reduce violence and create opportunities .

APEXAlways Pursuing Excellenceis a non-profit, community-based youth center located in Central City. They offer local youth a safe space to laugh, learn, play and grow; while providing a meal, mentoring, tutoring, community service opportunities, recreation, and other structured activities.
