Oil Action for Faggots & Queer Men
The Oil Action is a creative, naked dance experiment in solidarity and intimacy hosted by Keith Hennessy. Oil Actions are sometimes open to folks of all genders and sexualities and other times are targeted to specific groups. The Sep 27 Oil Action is for faggots and queer men, including trans men. Combining group nudity, intimacy practice, creative play, and meditative embodiment, the Oil Action is intended to be slippery, both physically and conceptually.

It is not first come, first served. Keith will (lightly) screen every person. Mostly he'll say yes but if he doesn't know you, he wants to make sure you know what the invitation is. Limited to 25 or 30 participants.

The Oil Action is an invitation to take your clothes off, close your eyes, and move slowly for one hour in warm oil on a big tarp, in a creative, naked experiment in solidarity and intimacy.

The Oil Action exists somewhere between participatory happening, social & performance research, and contemplative ritual. It is a formal experiment with specific rules, including closed eyes and soft hands, no grabbing. All bodies that can relax and roll on a hard floor can do it. It is intimate but not invasive, playful but not rowdy. It is definitely sexy but it is not only sexy. Like any embodied, expanded consciousness "trip" it can trigger all kinds of sensations, feelings, memories, futures, dreams, boners, shivers, fears, desires... The event is facilitated and guided. No observers, no cameras, no documentation.

You must RSVP to participate. No drop-ins. Mostly it is first-come-first-served but we will do some 'curating' of the participants based on our ethics and concerns.

What do I mean by faggots & queer men?
People who identify as men, guys, even dudes AND who have sexual, romantic, and/or intimacy desires to be naked with other queer men, including trans guys, trans fags, and men who weren't assigned male at birth. Queer and faggot are words and names that emerge from radical moments in gay and lgbt liberation to disrupt normative masculinity and sexuality, and I'm inviting these radical and liberatory aspects in each of you regardless of your relationship to these words.

Who should or might participate?
All kinds of guys with all kinds of lust and fear, desire and doubt; fugitive fags; dissident artists and subversive tricksters; radical faeries and sacred intimates; activists and organizers; hearty survivors; contact improvisers and body artists; pagans, witches, guys who pray, and unrelenting atheists; queer men who like to get naked; or who don't like to get naked; sexual healers and perverts; guys who want to try something they've never tried before; and guys who've been to Oil Actions and want to do it again.

Everyone arrives at 7pm, then the door is locked. Keith Hennessy will lead a warm up that will include movement, conversation, and etiquette. Conversation will cover introductions, logistics, boundaries/protection/consent, and some ideas about anxiety and capitalism, and care as resistance,  inspired by the recent essay We Are All Anxious, published online by the blog Plan C / Institute for Precarious Consciousness.

You won't know all the people but we are only accepting people who we feel will respect the suggested rules (more like an improv score) and delight in the experiment. It is not a game or a sex party or a contact improv jam although it has resonances with all of these. It's an invitation to be vulnerable, truly naked, dancing, in a communal vibration. It's disorienting in that you won't know where you are or who is next to you, but it is mostly slow and lovely.

Details for Participants:
We encourage you to take a shower before arriving.
Bring 1 or 2 bath towels to wipe the oil off. You might also consider wearing clothes that can handle a little organic coconut oil.
Wearing contacts is not recommended. Bring a case for storage and eye drops.
Bring socks to keep from tracking oil when you get off the tarp.
Long hair? Consider braiding it. Hats will fall. Oil enriches skin and hair.
The fee is $30, $20, or $10. You decide. If we raise more money than it costs, then Keith will get paid.
We need 3 people to arrive 60-90 minutes early to help set up.
