October 12th, 2014
December 7th, 2014
February 8th, 2015 - Mozartiade!
April 26th, 2015
This season we complete our three-year-long exploration of the music of Vienna from 1780 to 1930 with an engrossing variety of music, including a centerpiece event celebrating the chamber music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
In the spirit of last season's wonderful Schubertiade, this year we are offering a Mozartiade: an afternoon of Mozart's loveliest chamber works, complemented with delicious refreshments. Come for the glorious music and enjoy stimulating conversation and a glass of wine with musicians and audience members during the intermission!
Our Mozartiade will feature several of Mozart's most loved chamber works, including his Trio for Clarinet, Viola, and Piano ("Kegelstatt"), and his glorious Serenade in C Minor for winds.
This season will also highlight the richness of Hungary's contribution to the Austro-Hungarian Empire with a concert on October 12 culminating in Brahms' exquisite Piano Quartet in G Minor featuring its thrilling "Gypsy Rondo," a breathless Hungarian dance to close the piece. Our December 7 concert includes the delightful Hummel Septet in D Minor, and guest guitarist Christopher Kachian joins us for Matiegka's Notturno for flute, viola, and guitar. And in our April 26 concert, we welcome spring with two pieces emphasizing wind instruments: Beethoven's Quintet for Piano and Winds and Nonet by Bohuslav Martinů. Full details available at musicaloffering.org.
Four Sunday afternoons at 3pm - that's all it takes to relax, set the busy world aside, and enjoy intimate and soul-stirring music performed with brilliance and flair. Subscribe now so you don't miss a single concert of this wonderful season!
