CASA Night of Ideas
And by all-night, we really do mean all night!
At 6pm, join us as we start the night with an exclusive first peek at this year's festival programme*; then from 6.30pm, an amazing line up of speakers will begin the talks and debates that will last all night with topics ranging from Mexico and Colombia's wars on drugs to Latin American pre-colonial sexual practices to how Brazil can re-find its football mojo to an exploration of why Latin America is truly ahead of the game when it comes to short stories; also from 7pm, catch some of the best Latin American feature films of the past 10 years courtesy of partner distributors Network Releasing alongside world-class documentaries and new short films from across the continent, or don't do that and instead discover some of the UK's leading Latino poets and singer-songwriters.
We know you'll be hungry so we'll be serving delicious Latin American food all night and Cusqueña beer and to keep everyone going we will have free coffee provided by our partners Shelton Imports (http://sheltonimports.co.uk); while other highlights include playing a midnight game of Mexico's famous version of bingo, Loteria and performance lecture by DJ Goobi into the history of salsa - that's right, learn as you dance!
And that's just some of what you can expect. As the night goes on, so will the music, the talks, the films and the games until breakfast at 6am!
